Here are some of the my latest thoughts and ramblings on the tennis world.

  • So, the second I diss James Blake, straight up throwing him under the short bus, he retorts by making it to the quarters of the Farmers Classic.  Coincidence?  I don't think so.
  • Francesca Schiavone made another first round exit today.  Let me show you a graph demonstrating her recent tennis activity (in terms of victories).
  • As you can see, the French Open is the highlight of her recent performances.  Outside of that and her Barcelona title, she's been pretty quiet.  Dare I say, too quiet, even nonexistent.  I know it's far too hasty (and cruel) to suggest this, but we may just have another one-slam wonder on our hands.
  • Hey, it's Gael Monfils.

  • Eh!  Wrong.  That's not Gael.  Right??  Right.  That's mini-Monf.  Monfils Jr.  The Flying Frenchman 2.  His real name is Gianni Mina.  This 18 year old has some serious skills, and if he can break into the pro tour with some force, he may not be forever caught in Gael's shadow.  This picture gets me every time.  At first glance, it's just another Monf pic, then upon closer review(of the picture description), it's not Gael.  Whaaaaaat?  Gianni FTW!
  • Melanie Oudin has a twin sister.  Still can't quite believe that I'm afraid.  Why does there seem to be no mention of her at all?  Well, to follow Melanie's tag word, I guess I must BELIEVE.
  • Janko Tipsarevic is now on Twitter!  He's new, but he's got the tweeting skills of a seasoned Tweeter.  Props to you Tipsy.  Follow him.  Unless you hate humor.  Or Janko.  Or puppies.
  • Live coverage of LA starts tomorrow both on ESPN and Tennis Channel.  Finally.  I don't have to live on my computer any longer following live streams.  Check out the full TV schedule at Tennis.com
