The men's and women's finals at Wimbledon this weekend will be filmed in 3D and consequentially screened in 3D cinemas across the globe by Sony. You can find pics of the cameras used after the break.


I've got to say, this is really neat. I'm not saying that I'll be the first in line to see it, but screening a live sporting event in 3D in a large venue is pretty cool. I mean it's already done for some sports including football and soccer during playoff time. I love the idea and hopefully it's continues the already growing trend of broadcast 3D sporting events. Side note: I'd be curious to see how that would even look, I think awesome.
